JoBoxers filled a niche of their own as they emerged into the scene in 1983 with 3 hit singles. Their debut single ‘Boxerbeat’ charting at #3 set in motion the success of their following singles 'Just Got Lucky' and 'Johnny Friendly'. With their debut album 'Like Gangbusters' landing a top 20 in the UK Albums Chart. Before American vocalist Dig Wayne joined, British musicians Chris Bostock, Sean McLusky, Rob Marche and Dave Collard had been performing together in the Jazz-influenced Subway Sect. The coalition created the perfect blend of Punk, Jazz, Northern Soul, Rockabilly and Pop that made JoBoxers one of the most exciting bands around at the time.
